Ben Affleck 'was "temporarily insane" when he married Jennifer Lopez and is now pushing for a divorce after two years of "fever dream" marriage
Amid split rumors, PageSix claimed that Affleck, 51, is ready to end their two-year marriage, going so far as to claim that the decision to tie the knot was due to "temporary insanity."
A source told the site that the Oscar-winning Argo star "has come to his senses" after being so in love with the Atlas actress, 54, that he couldn't think straight.
While he has been seen spending time alone with Lopez in recent days, he now feels that her head is "clear" and that he can move on.
"If there was a way to divorce on the grounds of temporary insanity, I would do it," PageSix's source said.
"He feels like the last two years were just a fever dream, and now he has come to his senses and understands that there is no way this is going to work."
People also made claims on Monday about how they don't align when it comes to the public spotlight, but their source maintained that they will stand firm because they have a "great love story."
It was claimed that the two have also been looking for new homes after they bought a $60 million mansion together last year, although a source told PageSix that Lopez's is only for "investment purposes."
DailyMail.com reached out to a representative for Lopez and Affleck but did not receive a response.
Fans began to notice that something might be wrong with the power couple after they hadn't been photographed together in almost two months.
However, the couple had busy careers: he was filming The Accountant in Los Angeles and she was working co-chairing the Met Gala in New York City.
Headlines that they were on the rocks circulated.
But suddenly, Lopez was seen smiling at her husband when her daughter Seraphina was giving a performance in her school play last week. Ben didn't seem all that enthusiastic.
They were spotted together again over the weekend while driving to a garage near Soho House in Los Angeles.
He was holding a cell phone that said Jennifer Affleck on the front; It is unclear if he was holding her cell phone or if he was calling her from her cell phone even though she was sitting next to her.
This time they were smiling and seemed more in sync. Both have been wearing their wedding rings.
The two have a complicated history.
They first fell in love on the set of their film Gigli and became engaged, but broke up in 2004.
They got back together in 2021 and eloped in Las Vegas in July 2022 before having a big ceremony later in Georgia.
Eyebrows were raised when she wrote about his love in her film This Is Me... Now, in which he appeared, and she was seen melting next to him in the accompanying documentary titled The Greatest Love Story Never Told .
In the documentary he made it clear that he didn't like his wife sharing his old love letters.
She also addressed their different approaches to fame: "When we got back together, I said, 'Listen, one of the things I don't want is a social media relationship.' Then I realized it wasn't fair to ask. It's like If you were to marry the captain of a ship and say, "Well, I don't like water."
Together they have co-parented her children with Garner (Violet, Seraphina and Samuel), as well as her two teenage children with Marc Anthony, twins Max and Emme.
People also made claims Monday about how they don't align when it comes to care.
"They just have very different approaches when it comes to media attention," one source said. 'Ben hates all attention and it makes him very uncomfortable. Jennifer has always had a different approach.'
It was added that it's just not "his way" to share much of his personal life.
'It doesn't make him happy and it causes stress in her life and then in hers. There's no doubt their different styles clash," the source added.
